SDH deployment with UTStarcom at Bhutan Telecom 

Bhutan Telecom took up a project to upgrade their SDH network (STM-4) to create a STM-64 ring in 2010. For this they gave a contract to UTStarcom. Shaildhar executed the SDH project on behalf of UTStarcom. This project was primarily for Western Bhutan.
Scope of Work

• Site Survey
• Installation and Commissioning
• Site acceptance testing as per ITU-T Standards
• Migration of traffic to new backbone
• Operation and Maintenance handover

Key highlights

• In-spite of difficult terrain and sub-zero temperatures Installation and was completed within 18 days.
• Migration of traffic to new backbone was done without any outage.
• The entire project was executed within 55 days.
• Letter of appreciation from Bhutan Telecom
• We are now executing phase 2 of this project in East Bhutan.
